Bearings Specialty makes acquisition

Bearings Specialty Co. has acquired the assets of Machine Parts Corp. of Providence, R.I. and Machine Drives located in Hartford, Conn.

Both Machine Parts and Machine Drives will operate as divisions of Bearings Specialty, headquartered in Canton, Mass. The acquisition became final on Feb. 1.

All employees will be retained, according to Bearings Specialty.

Bearings Specialty Company (BSC) was founded in 1918 and is today a major independent distributor of bearings and power transmission products. It has six branches. Machine Parts and Machine Drives were founded in 1929 as an independent distributor of power transmission equipment.
