Integrated Power Services acquires Electro-Mec

Industrial Distribution staff -- Industrial Distribution, 2/12/2008 6:54:00 AM

Integrated Power Services acquired Electro-Mec, a power services company based in Indiana, Pa. Terms were not disclosed.

Integrated Power is the former power services unit of Reliance Electric and Dodge, manufacturers of industrial electric motors and power transmission products. IPS now has twelve regional service centers across the country. They are headquartered in Greenville, S.C.

''We’ve always admired Electro-Mec’s management team, strong market presence and the way they do business,'' said Brian Brehmer, IPS’ president and CEO. ''This acquisition fits perfectly with our strategy, which is to build a national network of service centers with industry-specific experience, technical resources and capabilities.''

Electro-Mec is a third-generation, family-owned company that also offers motor and mechanical repair, new product sales, field services and precision machined products. They will operate as an Integrated Power Services company.

''We talked with the management of 39 prospective buyers before my brothers and I decided to become part of IPS,'' said John Grube, Electro-Mec’s president. ''It was the right match in terms of complementary experience, shared values and a vision of the future.''
