Grainger’s April sales rise 13 percent

Daily sales for W.W. Grainger Inc. rose 13 percent in April, compared with the same period last year.

Grainger said sales for its branch-based segment rose 11 percent and sales for its Acklands-Canada division rose 35 percent. Sales for its Lab Safety Supply division rose 2 percent.

The Lake Forest, Ill.-based company ranked fourth on INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION's 2007 Big 50 list of distributors, with 2006 sales of $5.9 billion.
