Ferraz Shawmut acquires Chinese company

Ferraz Shawmut has acquired a majority share in the China-based Zhejiang Mingrong Electrical Protection.

Ferraz Shawmut, a leader in the field of circuit protection, is a subsidiary of the Carbone Lorraine Group.

MEP is a privately held company based in China’s Zhejiang province and focuses on the fuse and fusegear market.

The acquisition will enable Ferraz Shawmut to increase its footprint in the electrical markets of China where there is a growing demand for sophisticated equipment for power generation, distribution and control applications.
