Border States Electric buys Harris Electric Supply

Border States Electric agreed to acquire Harris Electric Supply for an undisclosed amount.Nashville-based Harris, which has seven locations in central Tennessee, will operate under its own banner as a division of Fargo, N.D.-based Border States.
The deal, expected to close in November, will increase the number of Border States employees to roughly 1,400. The company will have 57 branches in 13 states and Mexico after the merger.

Together, we will continue to offer outstanding, reliable customer service from the same great people our customers have come to know and trust,” Border States CEO Tammy Miller told the Murfreesboro Post.
Border States ranked 10th on INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION's 2008 Top 10 List of Electrical Distributors, with 2007 sales of $887.1 million.
