Timken to buy energy drilling firm

Industrial Distribution staff -- Industrial Distribution, 1/22/2008 7:24:00 AM

The Timken Co. agreed to acquire Boring Specialties Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

Houston-based Boring Specialties, which had 2006 sales of about $48 million and employs 190 people, provides deep-hole oil and gas drilling and extraction products and services.

The deal expands Timken’s footprint in the market. BSI founder Charlie Elder will continue to lead the company after the deal closes.
